OPTICAL TRANSCEIVER
Miniaturized board-mountable Optical Transceiver for high data rate Military Satellite Communications
Mini-BOT
OBJECTIVE
FIRST EU HI-REL, RAD-HARD 100G VCSEL OTRx.
Mini-BOT is a 3-year EDF Research Action which aims to develop the first fully European hi-rel, rad-hard optical transceiver for intra-satellite optical interconnects in Aerospace, Defence & Space applications.
Mini-BOT OTRx targets >100 Gb/s data rate at power efficiencies as low as 5 mW/Gb/s within an ultra-compact form factor (<2 gram mass and < 350 mm^2 PCB area).
Mini-BOT aims to deliver opto-electronics, SiGe BiCMOS electronics and meta-surface optics elements and combine them into a hi-rel OTRx module which relies on a wafer-scale assembly process.
Mini-BOT
